Abstract. A belt conveyor is used for transporting materials, generally horizontally, from one location to another. It is made up of an endless belt on top of idlers (rollers). The idlers are arranged in a trough on the carrying side and flat on the bottom, or return side. The driving unit moves one or more pulleys which, in turn, move the belt.
